CBT Kochkor Jarkyn

Location and atmosphere
72 year old Jarkyn and her family of five have been passionately welcoming tourists for several years now. While her son is farming and the daugther in law teaches and the local school, Jarkyn takes care of her 3 grandddaughters. Besides that she is a passionate felt master, always enthusiatic to share her skills with visitors.
Since 2019 Jarkyn can host up to 24 people in 11 rooms, as the family just build a new house on their lawn. A yurt in the backyard offers the perfect space for felt masterclasses and relaxing. A big dining room as well as the washing facilities are inside.
Surroundings and activities
Kochkor is the transit point towards one of the pearls of Kyrgyzstan, the summer pasture of shepherds at Son Kul Lake (100km). Another option, for the adventurous people is Kol-Ukok Lake, just two hours north of Kochkor. While staying in Kochkor, there are several opportunities to participate in felt workshops and cooking classes with one of the local masters.
